چکیده

A method of constructing second-quantization formalism on a set of orthonormal geminals (two-particle antisymmetric functions) is described. Instead of using an initial set of creation and annihilation operators with nontrivial commutation rules, the so-. -called ideal creation and annihilation operators, satisfying elementary Bose commutation rules, are used. The resulting Hamiltonian and an arbitrary observable can be uniquely expressed in terms of these ideal operators, playing now a role of dynamic variables. In order to simplify the evaluation of such ideal operators, a modified version of Feynman-Goldstone diagrammatic technique is used.

Geminal model chemistry II. Perturbative corrections.

We introduce and investigate a chemical model based on perturbative corrections to the product of singlet-type strongly orthogonal geminals wave function. Two specific points are addressed (i) Overall chemical accuracy of such a model with perturbative corrections at a leading order; (ii) Quality of strong orthogonality approximation of geminals in diverse chemical systems. We use the Epstein-N...

Hamiltonian quantization of effective Lagrangians with massive vector fields.

Effective Lagrangians containing arbitrary interactions of massive vector fields are quantized within the Hamiltonian path integral formalism. It is proven that correct Hamiltonian quantization of these models yields the same result as naive Lagrangian quantization (Matthews’s theorem). This theorem holds for models without gauge freedom as well as for (linearly or nonlinearly realized) spontan...

Semiempirical implementation of strictly localized geminals for analysis of molecular electronic structure

Approximate electronic trial wave function taken as the antisymmetrized product of strictly localized geminals (APSLG) is implemented for semiempirical analysis of molecular electronic structure of “organic” compounds and for calculations of their heats of formation. This resulted in an O(N)-scaling method. Using the MINDO/3 form of the semiempirical Hamiltonian with reparameterized βAB values ...

Exploring the second class constraint quantization approach proposed by Batalin and Marnelius

I extend upon the paper by Batalin and Marnelius, in which they show how to construct and quantize a gauge theory from a Hamiltonian system with second class constraints. Among the avenues explored, their technique is analyzed in relation to other well-known methods of quantization and a bracket is defined, such that the operator formalism can be fully developed. I also extend to systems with m...

Hartree-Fock and Kohn-Sham time-dependent response theory in a second-quantization atomic-orbital formalism suitable for linear scaling.

We present a second-quantization based atomic-orbital method for the computation of time-dependent response functions within Hartree-Fock and Kohn-Sham density-functional theories. The method is suited for linear scaling. Illustrative results are presented for excitation energies, one- and two-photon transition moments, polarizabilities, and hyperpolarizabilities for hexagonal BN sheets with up...
